Some of my favorite cake flavors are chocolate, vanilla (not a plain Jane vanilla - a really good vanilla), and carrot. For fillings, I've used extra frosting, fruit preserves, frosting mixed with fruit preserves (mmmmmm), ganache, etc.
I make everything (cake, fillings, frosting, fondant) from scratch, which takes a lot of time even for a small cake, so this is reflected in the price. Cake prices are based on number of servings, intricacy of design, and flavors.
